Conor Healey scored three goals and added two assists as the St. Lawrence University Men's Lacrosse team scored the most goals against RIT this season but it was not enough as the Tigers, ranked No. 1 in the country according to the latest USILA poll, scored an 18-12 victory over the Saints Saturday in a Liberty League game in Rochester.

The win secured the top seed in the upcoming Liberty League Tournament for RIT (16-0 Overall, 7-0 Liberty League). The Tigers will face Clarkson in a semifinal matchup while No. 2 seed St. Lawrence (9-7, 5-2) will host Union College in the other semifinal game. Both semifinal games will be Friday afternoon while the championship game will take place at the site of the highest remaining seed Sunday afternoon.

Against RIT, St. Lawrence scored 12 times – the most allowed by the RIT defense this season. The Tigers surrendered 11 goals to nationally ranked Cortland and Cabrini and gave up 11 goals to Middlebury as well.

The Saints played even with the Tigers in the first quarter with a 3-3 tie after the first 15 minutes of action. RIT pushed ahead in the second quarter breaking a 5-5 tie with three straight goals. Jon Fairbanks scored to stop the RIT run but the Tigers added two more goals in the final 2:14 of the first half to take a 10-6 lead into the halftime intermission.

In the second half, Healey scored to start the third quarter but RIT scored four of the next five in the period to take a 14-8 lead into the final quarter.

The teams played an even quarter with St. Lawrence scoring four of the final six goals of the game but could not close the gap to within six goals down the stretch. In the fourth quarter, Tommy Hovey scored his team leading and Liberty League leading 42nd goal of the season and Healey added a goal and an assist for the Saints.

Healey led the Saints with his five points while Jordan Dow added a goal and two assists for three points. Hovey and Fairbanks scored two goals each while Charlie Jennings, Jeremy Vautour, Charlie Duprey and Chris Anklin each scored once for the Saints.

Malcolm Lynch led the team with eight groundballs and Alec Dietsch grabbed six groundballs winning more than half the faceoffs (15-for-27) for St. Lawrence.
