Saints men's golf team finish 12th at Hershey Cup

The St. Lawrence University men's golf team shot a team total of 327 on Monday to finish in 12th place overall at the 2014 Hershey Cup in Hershey, PA. Three Saints fired 81 on day two of the event at Hershey Country Club East including captain Matt Barbuzzi, Jake Danforth and Brandon Lustig.

Lustig's total of 160 was good for 33rd place in the team's opening event of the spring season, while Danforth closed at 161 for 36th. Barbuzzi's second round was seven strokes better than Sunday, moving him into 68th place with a 169 total.

Capping the Saints' scoring on day two was Jack Reardon, who shot 84 on the par 71 course. He finished at 173, while Brady Garrett closed at 172 after an 89 on Monday. Garrett was in 73rd place while Reardon followed in 74th.

McDaniel's Alex Kane shot the low round of the tournament on Monday, a -1 par round of 70 to finish at 143, six strokes ahead of runner-up Oliver White of Allegheny. Kane's win help pace McDaniel College to the team title, as they rallied from five strokes back to win by eight at 606. St. John Fisher, Allegheny, Franklin & Marshall and Washington & Jefferson rounded out the top five.

St. Lawrence will be in action again next weekend, April 12 and 13, at the 2014 NYU Invitational.
