Kyle Edwards scored 17 points and Kyle Kobis added 11 points leading the St. Lawrence University Men's Basketball team to a 63-57 victory over Middlebury College Saturday afternoon in the consolation game of the WNY Knee and Orthopedic Surgery Tournament at Medaille College in Buffalo, NY.

Edwards scored 10 of his 17 points in the first half as the Saints (1-3) took an early lead with a 33-22 advantage after the first 20 minutes of action.

Middlebury (0-2) battled back and cut the St. Lawrence lead to four points with 12 minutes remaining but the Saints regained control with an Edwards layup followed by a Riley Naclerio 3-pointer.

A jumper for the Panthers with under a minute to play cut the lead to two points at 56-54 but Edwards was there again, with a pair of free throws.

Middlebury connected on a 3-pointer to trim the lead to a single point with 34 seconds left before Willie Zachery hit four straight free throws to seal the win.

Edwards was the high scorer with his 17 and Kobis added 11 while Zachery had nine and Ben Crawford chipped in eight for the Saints. Naclerio finished with six points and a team-leading nine rebounds.

The Saints return to action after the Thanksgiving break with a December 1 non-conference matchup at SUNY Plattsburgh.
