After four lead changes in the second half the St. Lawrence men's basketball team swept Clarkson with a 93-87 win Tuesday evening in Potsdam, N.Y. St. Lawrence now sits in first place in the Liberty League standings.

The Saints were led by senior captain Kyle Edwards with 28 points and nine rebounds. Edwards now sits 13th on St. Lawrence's all-time scoring list. Senior Kyle Kobis tallied 22 points, while junior Riley Naclerio added 17.

The Saints held the edge over Clarkson for the majority of the first half. The Golden Knights fought hard tying the score 28-28 with 5:02 remaining in the first half. The Saints were able rebound and hold a 42-38 lead heading into the locker room.

St. Lawrence started off the second half on a seven point run, the Golden Knights dwindled the score and tied the game 50-50 off a three-pointer from Matt Hornak. Clarkson would take their first lead of the second half at the 16:26 mark. That lead was cut short with a three-pointer from Kobis and a fast break steal and layup from Edwards. Edwards would be fouled on the play to shoot for the extra point.

The Saints held their largest lead of the second half off another three-pointer from Edwards with 12:43 remaining. A rebound from Mike Hayduk and layup by Derek Hart would tie the game (81-81) one last time with 2:29 to go in the second half. Willie Zachery, Edwards, Kobis, and Naclerio would all score down the stretch to secure the win for the Saints.

Clarkson was led by Derek Hart with 28 points, while Laim Ellis added 21 and Mike Hayduk contributed 15.

The Saints improve to 20-4 and 13-2 in league play, while Clarkson falls to 12-12 and 7-8.

St. Lawrence returns to action Friday night hosting Skidmore at 7 p.m. at Burkman Gymnasium.
