Junior forward Ben Crawford led the Saints with 17 points and nine rebounds and the St. Lawrence University men's basketball team scored 39 points in the second half, but the Saints comeback bid fell short, falling to Bard 80-63 on Friday evening in Annandale-on-Hudson, New York.

Tonight's win for Bard marks the first win over St. Lawrence since the Raptors joined the Liberty League for the 2011-12 academic year.

Second for the Saints was Dom DeRegis with 10 points and two rebounds, while Pierre Coffy added nine points, three rebounds and a team-high four steals. Cam Keeley also added nine points for the Saints.

Emmanuel Oyakhilome landed two 3-pointers in the first four and a half minutes of play as the Raptors quickly gained a 13-0 lead over the Saints. DeRegis put St. Lawrence on the board with his first 3-pointer at the 15:16 mark of the first half. DeRegis went on to shoot 2-for-3 from the arc.

Capitalizing on defensive rebounds, the Raptors had amassed a 20-point lead with four minutes to play in the half and extending that lead to 24 with 1:49 to play.

St. Lawrence went to work in the second half, cutting Bard's lead to only 11 points with just over 12 minutes to play in the final frame. Crawford narrowed the lead to seven with under ten minutes remaining. Crawford then landed a 3-pointer to get the Saints within six points, but that was as close as St. Lawrence came down the final stretch.

Bard was led by Justyn Rogers with 20 points, six rebounds and two blocks. John Miller, Oyakhilome and David Runcie also recorded double digits for the Raptors, netting, 14, 13 and 10, respectively. Miller shot 4-for-5 from the arc and 5-for-6 from the floor, while Oyakhilome went 3-for-5 from the arc and 5-for-9 from the field.

St. Lawrence outshot the Raptors 39-36 in the second half, but were unable to erase the first-half deficit.

With the loss, the Scarlet and Brown fell to 2-8 on the season and 0-3 in conference play, while the Raptors improved to 3-7 and 1-2.

The Saints will travel to Vassar for their second Liberty League game of the weekend, tomorrow January 6th. Tip off against the Brewers is set of 4 p.m.
