Deshon Burgess hit a 3-pointer with 0.8 seconds remaining in the second overtime period to lead the Union College to a 110-108 victory over St. Lawrence University in the semifinal round of the Liberty League Men's Basketball Tournament night in front of an estimated crowd of 500 fans at Burkman Gymnasium on Wednesday night.

The 3-pointer was the seventh of the game for Burgess, who scored 34 points to lead the Dutchmen to the conference tournament's championship game.

"It was a great basketball game," said head coach Chris Downs. "Both teams have four or five seniors, and they all played really well today. It was a back-and-forth game that felt like it was going to come down to whoever had the ball last, and Union came down the floor with time running out in the second overtime and Deshon hit a 25-footer with less than a second to play."

It was a back-and-forth game that featured nine ties and 26 lead changes.

After trailing by as many as 13 points in the first half and 11 points early in the second, the second-seeded Saints went on a 13-0 run, capped by a 3-pointer by Kyle Kobis five minutes into the second half.

With the game tied at 91, Union had a chance to win the game in regulation, but missed a shot as time expired.

The Saints appeared to be in position to win the game after Riley Naclerio hit a 3-pointer with 31 seconds left in the first overtime, but Union's Greg King responded with a 3-pointer from the right corner with 18 seconds left to tie the game once again for the Dutchmen.

Union was 19-for-37 from behind the arc, hitting 5-of-8 in the overtime periods.

St. Lawrence held a 38-24 rebounding edge, but committed 13 turnovers while Union, the tournament's No. 3 seed, had just three.

Naclerio led the Saints with 34 points and 15 rebounds, recording his 10th double-double of the season. Kyle Edwards and Willie Zachery both scored 22 points for the Saints, who finished the season 20-6.

King scored 21 points for the Dutchmen, while Wade McNamara scored 16 and Kevin Weckworth added 15.
