The St. Lawrence University men's basketball team defeated Bard, 58-43, in Friday's Liberty League contest in Annandale-on-Hudson, NY. With the win, the Saints kept their playoff hopes alive as they move to 6-4 in the conference and 8-11 overall. Meanwhile, the Raptors fell to 4-15 over and 1-11 in the conference.

Sophomore Brady Condlin led St. Lawrence with 18 points, including 11-of-12 from the free throw line, and nine rebounds. Junior Payton Stahler added 14 points off the bench, and junior Janpeter Brase added 11 points and eight rebounds.

Both team struggled offensively in the first half, but St. Lawrence held a 27-18 edge at the break, thanks to a 9-for-9 performance from the free throw line in the first 20 minutes.

Bard cut St. Lawrence's lead to three in the first five minutes of the second half, but back-to-back three-pointers by junior Al Jones and Condlin pushed it back to nine. At the midway point of the second half, Bard cut the deficit to four twice, but three foul shots by Condlin pushed the lead back to seven.

Bard made another push and trimmed St. Lawrence's lead to 48-43 with 4:19 left, but the Saints held Bard without a point the rest of the way for the victory.

St. Lawrence will take on Vassar in a key Liberty League match-up tomorrow evening. Tip-off is schedule for 4:00pm.
