The St. Lawrence men's swimming and diving team fell to Nazareth 175-106 on Saturday afternoon in Rochester in the final dual meet of the fall semester. The Saints drop to 0-4, while Nazareth improves to 3-1.
Saints divers Matthew Edkins and Alex Blake finished first and second, respectively, in both the one meter and three meter competitions. It is the first time Edkins as swept the diving events, as the pair traded victories in all the other dual meets to date.
Edkins scored 270.40 on the on meter and board and 269.90 on the three meter, while Blake posted scores of 222.60 and 260.80, respectively.
Henry McCormick was the only other individual event winner on the day for St. Lawrence, as he won the 200 IM with a time of 2:28.77. He also earned a second-place finish in the 200 breaststroke (2:45.77).
Senior Grant Reeder and first-year Robert Burke also earned second-place finished for the Saints, with Reeder finishing second in the 50 freestyle with a time of 26.18 and Burke in the 200 fly in 2:28.81.
The Saints will now turn their attention to preparing for the Liberty League Championship meet which will be held in Troy, N.Y. on Dec. 4 and 5.
