St. Lawrence University senior Jarell Roberts has been named 2012 Liberty League Indoor Track Men's Track Athlete of the Year in voting by the league's coaches.
Roberts was Liberty League champion in the 60 (7.03 tied SLU record), 200 22.44 (also tied school record) and ran on the 4x200 relay. He was 3rd in the 60 in 7.11, 2nd in the 200 in 22.64 and ran on 5th place 4x200 at NYSCTC and was 7th in 200 at ECAC. He was a two-time Liberty League performer of the week.
He was Liberty League Rookie of the Year as a freshman, but missed his sophomore season due to a football injury. He returned to action as a junior and completed his Liberty League indoor career with four individual titles in addition to anchoring three winning 4x200 relays.
