St. Lawrence University's squash team sandwiched a big win over Middlebury College between highly competitive matches against top ten teams in a big weekend of squash at the Robie Squash Center Friday and Saturday.

Sixth-ranked Harvard University made its first appearance in the Robie Squash Center on Friday night and while the Crimson came away a 9-0 winner, the games themselves were very competitive for the Saints. SLU, ranked 15th nationally, began Saturday competition with a big 6-3 win over 13th ranked Middlebury and finished the weekend series with a 9-0 loss to ninth-ranked Western Ontario.

The Saints swept matches five through nine and got a big win from Vir Seth at three in their 6-3 win over Middlebury.

Alex Dodge lost a 3-2 marathon to the Panther's Valentin Quan at one, winning games one and two before Quan came back with three straight, winning 11-7, 12-10 and 11-8. Amay Merchant also dropped a five-game match to Jay Dolan at two, falling behind 2-1 before winning game four 11-5. Dolan won the decisive fifth game 11-6.

Seth turned back Parker Hurt 3-1 at three, losing game one 11-7, but coming back with 16-14, 11-5 and 11-7 wins to take the match and while Jermaine Xaba lot a well-played match at four, the Saints swept the rest for the team victory. Will Campo beat Spencer Hurst 3-0 at five, Mike Badali was a 3-0 winnver over Will Moore at six, Tyler Stout turned back Cooper Redpath 3-0 at six, Thomas Kraft won 3-1 in a match with Addi Disesa at eight, winning the first two before a 11-7 win by Disesa in game three. Kraft took the match with a 11-7 win in game four. Russell Woeltz was also a four-game winner at nine, taking out JP Garofalo 11-8, 12-10, 8-11, 11-2. Nate Ticho won the exhibition match at ten 3-2 with a 13-11 win in the fifth game.

In Friday's match with Harvard, Badali was the only one to go beyond three games against the Crimson, as Nigel Koh lost the first game 11-8 before rallying with three straight wins. All of the other matches, while decided by 3-0 scores, included close games, however. Dodge lost to Gary Power at one, Mercahnt lost to Reed Endressen at two, Seith lost to Richard Hill at three and Brandon McLaughlin turned back campo at four. Zeke Scherl handed Tyler Stout his first loss of the year at six, Tommy Mullaney beat Thoma Kraft at seven, Alex Ma beat Woeltz at eight and Will Ahmed topped Max Frew at nine. Pete Montesano lost in the exhibition at ten.

The Saints also lost to Western Ontario by a 9-9 score with Badali going five games against tashlin reddy, winning games one and two 14-12 and 17-15 before Reddy rallied with 11-6, 11-2 and 11-5 wins, and Stout went four games with Andrew Silvestri, forcing the fourth game with a 11-8 win in game three.

The Saints will play at Cornell Feb. 6.
