Both the St. Lawrence University men's and women's Nordic ski teams finished in 12th place in the freestyle races at the 2014 Colby Carnival on Saturday afternoon at Quarry Road. Austin Meng and Erin Perryman led their respective teams with top-30 showings.

Meng was the top St. Lawrence finisher in the men's 15k free, earning 23rd place in 38:54.2. Eric Lustgarten and Calvin Swomley added to the team's point total in 48th and 50th place. Will Frielinghaus (51st), Blaine Ayotte (55th), Kyle Curry (56th), Morgan Holland (61st), Phillip Marshall (62nd) and Matt Dier (69th) also represented St. Lawrence.

Meanwhile, Perryman's 29th place finish was a career-best for the sophomore from West Lebanon, NH. She raced the women's 10k free in 30:57.8 to earn 17.0 points. Kate Mulcahy followed in 51st position, while Taren McGray (86th) capped the squad's scoring. Sophomore Laurel Hurd (93rd) also raced for the Saints.

The University of Vermont swept the freestyle races on Saturday, winning both team and individual titles. Linda Davind Malm won the women's race for the Catamounts, while Scott Patterson claimed the men's crown.

The Saints Nordic teams will race again next weekend in the 2014 UNH Carnival.
