The St. Lawrence University men's basketball team suffered a 76-67 loss to Skidmore College in the Liberty League semifinal in Saratoga Springs, NY.
The Saints, led by senior co-captain Ralph Temgoua's 16 points, six assists and six rebounds, concludes their season at 14-11. Senior Terry Parham went 10-10 from the free throw line to finish with 14 points, while senior co-captain Garrett Sharlow chipped in 13 points. The Thoroughbreds, now 18-8, advance to Saturday's championship game at top-seed Hobart.
The opening 10:00 minutes went back-and-forth with four ties and three lead changes. The Saints went up 16-14 with 10:00 to play in the half on a Sharlow layup, but a Kyle Clark 3-pointer put the home team up 17-16 at 9:47. Skidmore stretched the lead to 10 at the half, 36-26, as the Thoroughbred bench scored 18 of the team's 36 points.
Though St. Lawrence cut the lead down to four points, 52-48, with 9:27 remaining, they could not overcome the deficit and fell by the final score of 76-67.
