Senior co-captain Ralph Temgoua scored 18 points and three other Saints hit double-figures as the St. Lawrence University men's basketball team earned a 69-54 victory over Union College in the Liberty League opener for both teams in Schenectady, NY.
St. Lawrence improves to 4-4 (1-0) and successfully snapped Union's seven game winning streak. The Dutchmen fall to 7-2 (0-1) on the season.
First-year student Brady Condlin posted his first collegiate double-double, scoring 14 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Senior Kyle Miller also scored 14 points, while sophomore Brandon Rivera tallied 11 points for the Saints.
After trailing throughout the opening half, St. Lawrence took a 33-32 lead into the locker room on a layup by Rivera. The Saints never trailed for the remainder of the game, posting a 20-6 run in a span of 10:22 to take a 56-40 lead that they rode to the end of regulation.
The Saints will battle Rensselaer tomorrow, Jan. 7, in Troy, NY. Tip-off is scheduled for 4:00 pm.
