Saints dominate men's track Twilight Invitational

Logan Mancuso and Evan Page finished first and second in the 5,000-meter run, respectively, with All-Atlantic Regional Track and Field Conference Championship qualifying times to lead to the St. Lawrence University men's outdoor track and field team to a win in the seven-team SLU Twilight Invitational on Saturday evening.

Mancuso finished in 15 minutes, 6.63 seconds, with Page exactly four seconds behind. Mancuso's time was four seconds shy of his personal best performance in the event, while Page's time was four-and-a-half seconds faster than his previous best.

St. Lawrence scored 267 points to easily outdistance the field. Utica College was second with 132 points.

Dylan Babcock matched his personal best in the hammer throw, winning the event with a 45.92-meter toss. Cole Burbage had a season-best leap (1.82 meters) to win the high jump, Riley Rising won the steeplechase in his first attempt at the event, Ian Clough won the 200, William Merchant won the javelin and Dexter Benkard was the top collegiate runner in the 10,000.

The Saints' winning 4x400 relay qualified for regionals with a blazing time of 3:22 flat, more than five seconds faster than the squad's previous best time this season.
