Saints Carpenter, Lustgarten earn top-15 in un nordic ski Classic at Williams Carnival

The St. Lawrence University Nordic ski teams competed in the 10k Classic races on Saturday at the 2012 Williams Carnival, held at Craftsbury in Common, VT. Senior Caroline Carpenter continued to impress with another top-10 finish, while sophomore Eric Lustgarten led the men's team in the top-15.

Carpenter was ninth overall in the women's 10k classic with a time of 32:08.7, earning her second straight top-10 showing. The Shelburne, VT native was joined in the scoring by classmate Leah Hart in 31st and rookie Kate Mulcahy in 49th.

First-year student Emma Duffany followed in 57th place, while classmate Lauren Olson (61st) and sophomore Bridget Shea-Gander (62nd) rounded out the team's line-up.

Meanwhile, Lustgarten posted his new career-best finish in 14th place overall in the men's 10k. The Burlington, VT native raced in 28:07.7 to lock up his second collegiate top-15.

First-year students Austin Meng and Will Frielinghaus capped the team's scoring in 29th and 39th places, respectively. Seniors Adam Terko (40th) and Teo Jackson (58th) followed, while first-year Austin Hart (67th) also represented the Scarlet and Brown on Saturday.

Annie Hart from Dartmouth College won the women's race on Saturday, while Franz Bernstein of UVM took the men's title.

The Saints Nordic ski teams will compete in next weekend's EISA finale at the 2012 conference championships at Middlebury.
