Saints capture road win at RIT

The St. Lawrence University men's basketball team captured an 83-74 road win against RIT in Liberty League play Saturday afternoon in Rochester, N.Y.

Junior Riley Naclerio led the Saints, scoring 22 points and snagging 11 rebounds. Senior Kyle Edwards added 16 points while sophomore Ben Crawford tallied 14.

The Saints captured their first lead of the game with 14:38 left in the first half off a layup by Crawford. The Tigers battled back to tie the game, 23-23, off a steal by Robert Aguilera and a layup by Troy Pierre-Louis with 6:07 remaining. The Saints held a 37-34 lead at halftime, and to hold the lead through the majority of the second half. RIT managed to tie the game (68-68) once again with 6:40 remaining in the second half. A long 3-point shot from Edwards with 43 seconds remaining helped secure the win for the Saints.

Pierre-Louis and AJ Horde led the way for RIT, with 20 points and 16 points, respectively.

The Saints improved to 17-4 overall and 10-2 in Liberty League play, as RIT fell to 12-10 and 6-7. St. Lawrence remains tied for first place with Skidmore in the league standings.

The Saints will be back in action at home next weekend taking on Vassar and Bard in Burkman Gymnasium at 8 p.m.
