St. Lawrence University senior Shawn Lillie is second in the heptathlon after the first day of competition and the Saint men's indoor track and field team is fourth in the field after early events in the 2015 New York State Collegiate Track Conference Indoor Championships at RIT.
Lillie won the shot put with a 12.78 meter throw in the heptathlon and trails St. John Fisher's Devin Cornelius, the defending event champion, by just 38 points with three events to be contested on Saturday morning. He was second in both the 560 meters and the long jump and fourth in the high jump and has 2649 points while Cornelius leads with 2687.
Senior Trevor Bibb was the lone Saint event champion on Frdiay as he won the 5000 meters in 15:17.50.
The Saint Distance Medley Relay team of Dennis Korir, Joe Smith, Dan Visconti and Wesley Kirui was third in 10:25.52 and the 4x200 team of Gordon White, Harrison Stiers, Nick Crawford and Travis Hamre finished seventh in 1:32.46. Scott Kasson earned the other Saint points on Friday with a seventh at 15.25 meters in the weight throw and Lillie added a ninth place finish in the long jump.
