St. Lawrence University’s Eliza Bell cleared 1. 63 meters in the high jump in the NCAA Division III Track and Field Championships on Friday, finishing 11th in the event.
Bell, the ECAC high jump champion,cleared each of the first three heights in the competition on her first attempt before missing at 1.67. Elizabeth Evans of Rose Hulman won the event on attempts at 1.73 meters.
Carly Stine ran 1:03.53 in the preliminaries of the NCAA Division III Championship 400 meter intermediate hurdles on Thursday and did not advance to Saturday's final as the 2012 championships got underway in Claremont, CA on Thursday.
Stine, the Liberty League and NYSCTC champion in the 400 hurdles finished 16th in the 22-runner field. Stine was fifth in her heat, won by Hannah Wiley of Southern Maine in 1:01.58.
