CANTON -- Kyle Edwards and Ben Crawford both scored 23 points to lead the St. Lawrence University men's basketball team to a 91-73 win over Hobart in a Liberty League contest on Saturday afternoon at Burkman Gymnasium.

Crawford was 9-for-11 from the floor and added a team-high eight rebounds for the Saints, who improved to 14-2 overall, 7-0 in the Liberty League. Edwards was a perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line and added five assists and two steals for St. Lawrence.

St. Lawrence trailed early, but a 7-0 run capped by a 3-pointer by Kyle Kobis gave the Saints a 17-12 lead about seven minutes into the game, and the Saints never trailed again.

The Saints built a 49-31 halftime lead, thanks in large part to 16-for-19 shooting from the free throw line, with Edwards scoring 19 of his 23 in the first half, including all nine free throws.

Hobart never cut the deficit to less than 13 points in the second half.

Willie Zachery added 14 points for the Saints, and Kobis scored 13.

Colin Dougherty led Hobart with 15 points. Luke Ruddy and Sam Allen both added 10 points, as the Statesmen fell to 9-7, 4-3.

The Saints will go on the road to Saratoga, N.Y., next Tuesday, to face Skidmore in a battle for the top sport in the Liberty League standings, as the Thoroughbreds enter the game 8-1 in the league. St. Lawrence will then return home for a Liberty League weekend against Rennselaer and Union.
