The St. Lawrence University alpine ski teams raced on Friday and Saturday at the 2015 Middlebury Carnival at the Middlebury Snow Bowl. Junior Maria Hillenbrand posted her third top-20 finish of the season in the women's giant slalom, while Sydney Henegan scored in both races for the Scarlet and Brown.

Hillenbrand was 19th overall in the women's GS, while rookies Henegan and Julia Ristine followed in 21st and 22nd to cap the scoring at 67.0 points. Eliza Cowie added a 30th place showing, while Alita Rogers (37th) and Allison Visconti (DNF) rounded out the team's competitors in Saturday's event. Middlebury College won the women's GS, though UVM's Kristina Riis-Johannessen earned individual honors.

Ristine was the top St. Lawrence finisher in Friday's women's slalom race in 30th place, while Henegan and Rogers scored in 34th and 35th, respectively. The trio combined for 51 points, good for seventh place, while Cowie (36th), Hillenbrand (49th) and Visconti (DNF) also raced. The University of Vermont earned the slalom team crown, while Colby's Mardene Haskell took the individual title.

Nick Stenicka was the top St. Lawrence finisher on the weekend for the Saints men's alpine team, as he was 18th amongst EISA competitors in Friday's slalom and was 27th in the GS. Taber Engelken (41st) and Kei Kullberg (47th) added the scoring in slalom as the Saints were ninth overall. Michael Williams (49th) and Dan Martin (DNF) also raced for the Scarlet and Brown.

Engelken, meanwhile, led the team in Saturday's GS in 21st position as St. Lawrence finished in seventh as a team. Stenicka's 27th place finish was followed by Hayes Graham in 29th, good for 57.0 total points. Kullberg (31st) and Williams (DNF) rounded out the line-up. The Catamounts of UVM swept the team races, while the University of New Hampshire's Coley Oliver took top EISA honors in both competitions.

The Middlebury Carnival caps the 2015 EISA regular season, with just the 2015 NCAA Regional Championships remaining at Whiteface Mountain in Lake Placid, NY. It will be the final push for individuals to look to earn bids to the 2015 NCAA Skiing Championships in Lake Placid from March 11-14.
