Saints 8th in Liberty League men's swimming championships

St. Lawrence University's men's swimming and diving team finished eighth in the nine-team Liberty League Championship at Union on Saturday.

RPI won the team title with 1702 points with Rochester second with 1586. The Saints finished with 380.5 points.

Saint divers again had a good day as James Wilczewski was fourth in the one meter competition with 421.40 points, Alex Blake was fifth with 397.15, Billy Moran was ninth with 348.15 and Lucas Heath-Howe placed 15th as the Saints piled up 83 points in that event and moved up to seventh after Saturday's first session.

Matt Bauer led the Saints in Saturday's early session with a 14th place finish in 18:23.77 in the 1650 free and the Saint 200 Medley Relay team of Grant Reeder, Hank McCormick, Keenan Weischedel and Kirby Kaylor finished eighth in 1:51.65.

Other session II finishes for the Saint men included a 16th in the 400 IM by Bauer in 4:46.75. Reeder finished 20th in the 100 back in 58.76 and was 24th in the 200 fly in 1:53.73 while McCormick finished 21st in the 100 breaststroke in 1:07.06.

Reeder scored in the 200 back with a 17th place finish in 2:05.70 while Kaylor was 26th in the 100 freestyle.

The Saints 400 free relay team of Reeder, Bauer, Weischedel and Kaylor finished eighth in 3:32.03 to complete the meet.
