Saint Teams, 9 Athletes earn USTFCCCA academic honors

Nine individuals and both the St. Lawrence men's and women's track and field teams earned US Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Division III Track and Field All Academic honors for 2014-15.

Team awards were based on a cumulative grade point average of 3.10 or higher on a 4.0 scale. To be eligible for individual recognition, student-athletes needed a GPA of 3.30 or higher and either competed in the NCAA indoor or outdoor championship were ranked among the national top 35 in an individual event of top 25 in a relay event.

Trevor Bibb, NCAA qualifier in the 10,000 outdoors and the St. Lawrence Outstanding Senior Scholar-Athlete award winner and freshman Gordon White who ranked in the top 35 in the long jump and was Liberty League Rookie of the Year, represented the Saint men's team.

National Field Athlete of the Year and NCAA outdoor meet Outstanding Field performer Divya Biswal was joined on the women's list by sophomore Lisa Grohn, senior Cassia Hameline, first year Meghan Kellogg and junior Marissa Turner as qualifiers through NCAA championship competition while first year Ashley Leta and senior Carly Stine were also honored after finishing in the top 35 in their events.

Kellogg, Hameline, Grohn and Leta were also members of the Saint cross country team in the fall and Kellogg was Liberty League Rookie of the Year in cross country and both indoor and outdoor track.

St. Lawrence's nine honorees represent nearly half of the 19 Liberty League student-athletes who were recognized by the USTFCCCA.
