St. Lawrence University's men's squash team has been ranked second nationally in a pre-season coaches poll conducted by the College Squash Association.
The Saints, who finished last year ranked fifth nationally, reached their highest ranking ever with 553 points, trailing only Harvard in the pre-season coaches poll. Trinity College is third with 541 points, Yale is fourth with 525 followed by Rochester, Columbia, Franklin and Marshall, Cornell, Pennsylvania and Princeton in the top ten.
Rankings are based on last year's finish, returning players and potential newcomers to the lineup.
SLU will open its season at the Liberty League Championships at Vassar College Nov. 22-23 and will play Rochester in a big early-season match in the final match of the tournament.
The Saint schedule also includes matches with Harvard and Princeton prior to the holiday break.
