St. Lawrence University's Tim McCrossen '88 became the first Saint inductee in the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Division III Track and Field Hall of Fame on the eve of the 2015 NCAA Division III Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships which will be held at the Merrick Pinkard Track and Field Complex beginning Thursday.

McCrossen, the owner of the most All America plaques in Saint athletic history, was among four honorees recognized at the NCAA Championship banquet in the Newell Field House Wednesday evening. He was joined by Ambo Bati of Augustana College, Kathy Darling of Rowan and Johns Hopkins and Michelle LaFleur of SUYNY Cortland.

McCrossen was a two-time national champion and established an NCAA Division III record in the 400 meters. He won 27 state titles and 34 conference championships during his Saint career. He was a 12-time All America and held 12 Saint records between indoor and outdoor track. He still holds six Saint individual records and is part of two record-holding relay teams. He led his teams to three indoor state titles, two outdoor state titles, two NCAA second place finishes and a third place finish. He was both the ICAC Athlete of the Year and Most Outstanding Runner in the State meet in 1987 and 1988. He also won the 200 meters in the Finland vs. Norway national games in 1987.

Also an outstanding student, he was the 1988 Senior Scholar Athlete award winner and one of six national winners of a NCAA Post-Graduate Scholarship.

Now a chiropractor, Tim was a member of the US Olympic Bobsled team in 1997 and competed in Lillihammer, Norway.
