The St. Lawrence University women's hockey team advanced to the ECAC Hockey Championship game behind a thrilling 2-1 overtime victory over Harvard University on Friday night in Ithaca, NY. Junior Kelly Sabatine scored the game-winner early into overtime, her second goal of the night, sending the Saints to the title game against nationally-ranked No. 3 Cornell.
St. Lawrence improves to 23-9-2 on the season, while Harvard falls to 22-9-1.
"This was a tremendous hockey game tonight," said St. Lawrence head coach Chris Wells. "Carmen (MacDonald) came up with some key saves for us throughout the game and Kelly delivered another clutch goal to keep the bus moving."
St. Lawrence and Cornell will play at Lynah Rink tomorrow, Saturday, March 3 at 4:00pm for the league's automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament.
