St. Lawrence University junior forward Kelly Sabatine has been nominated for the 2012 Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award, presented by Easton Foundations, honoring the nation's top NCAA Division I women's ice hockey player.

Thirty players are among the list of nominees for the Patty Kazmaier award, now in its 15th year. Of the remaining nominees, 21 are forwards, five are defensemen and four are goaltenders, and the players cover 15 different institutions.

"Kelly has had an outstanding season, and we're very excited for her to be on this incredible list of talented student-athletes," said St. Lawrence head coach Chris Wells. "She has worked extremely hard to help our team succeed, and she is a very deserving candidate for this distinguished honor."

Sabatine has already recorded a career-high 40 points on 17 goals and 23 assists this season. The Hamilton, ON native, now only two points shy of becoming the 19th player in University history to record 100 career points, is in the top-5 in both points per game and goals in ECAC Hockey. She has 11 multi-point games, including two career-high 4-point contests while racking up four clutch game-winning goals.
