Verona, NY – At the start of the day it appeared as if the Clarkson University Golf team might have a rough go at Kaluhyat Golf Course, but the Golden Knights recovered nicely on the back nine to put together a team score of 315 strokes at the midway points of the Liberty League Fall Preview.

The Golden Knights are currently tied for third with 315 strokes, along with New York University. University of Rochester leads the pack at 309 and Rensselaer is second at 311. Skidmore, St. Lawrence and Hobart are all at least 10 strokes behind the two-way tie for third.

Junior Chris Rust is tied for fifth (among 42 participants) after shooting a 76 at the par-72, 6724-yard course. He shot 41 on the front nine, but birdied the 11th, 14th, and 16th holes to card a 35 on the back, finishing with 76. Senior Thomas Conroy birdied both 11 and 16 to score a 78, shooting 39 on both the front and back nine. Senior Brad Belote also ended with a 78 after scoring a 37 on the back nine, including a birdie on the 17th hole. Both Conroy and Belote are tied for ninth on the leaderboard. Sophomore Cameron Anthony also scored better on the back nine, shooting a 39 with six pars on the final nine holes to end up with an 83, which rounded out Clarkson's team score.

Trevor Labrecque recorded back-to-back birdies on the sixth and seventh holes, but managed to shoot 88 overall. Playing as an individual, Steve Dillon scored an 89 with five pars.
