Canton, NY – Madison Rowe scored the game-winner 5 minutes, 25 seconds into overtime to lift the SUNY Canton women's soccer team to a 1-0 win against visiting SUNY Delhi on Sunday afternoon.
Katie Lamica found Bailey Grace at the top of the box in the sixth minute of overtime. A defender hugging the right post made an initial save on Grace's shot, but Rowe put home the rebound for the sudden death victory.
The Roos (4-1), winners of four straight, held advantages in shots (14-9), shots on goal (4-1) and corner kicks (7-1) in the contest.
Allison Wakefield made one save in her third clean sheet of the season, while Jacqueline Slentz made one save for the Broncos (3-4).
The women's soccer team returns to the pitch on Tuesday when it hosts Bryant & Stratton College at 4 p.m.
