Albany, NY – Brittany Rotach (Brasher Falls, NY) stopped a remarkable 18 shots in the contest but the offense was unable to get going as the SUNY Canton women's soccer team fell, 2-0, to host Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (ACPHS) Friday evening. The win improves the Panthers to 9-1-1 on the season, while the Kangaroos fall to 7-8-1.

Rotach made eight first half stops keeping the Roos in the contest but host ACPHS got on the board in the 40th minute when junior striker Sarah Cope tallied her 13th score of the season off a feed from senior Frances Ripepi. The Panthers took a 1-0 lead into intermission.

SUNY Canton had some opportunities for the equalizer in the second half as the team generated six shots on goal in the contest but Panther keeper Amy Jagareski was able to make all six saves she faced in the contest. The Panthers added an insurance marker in the 68th minute when Kayli Smith played a pass to Ripepi who found the back of the net for the 13th time this season.

Rotach was even more impressive in the final 45 minutes stopping an additional 10 shots for a total of 18 in the contest. Her previous season-high in stops was 10 and she jumped her total saves to 90 this season.

The women's soccer team returns to the pitch on Tuesday when it travels to Morrisville State for a 6:00 p.m. contest.
