Amherst, NY – Daemen College's Kacey Bougard finished with a hat trick tallying three scores in the opening half as the SUNY Canton women's soccer team fell 5-0 on the road Tuesday evening. The win improves the Wildcats to 4-4, while the Kangaroos fall to 5-5.

Bougard tallied her first of the game just 1:32 in when teammate Cassidy Kozub found her in the center of the box. She fired a shot that deflected off a diving Brittany Rotach (Brasher Falls, NY) for the early lead. The forward would strike again early on in the 10th minute for Daemen as she stole the ball from a defender and perfectly placed the ball just inside the left post.

The senior added her third tally of the half in the 30th minute when teammate Ashley Griffin played a through ball into open space. Bougard took the ball in on the breakaway and finished for the 3-0 lead. The Wildcats outshot SUNY Canton 10-4 including a 7-2 shots on goal advantage as they led 3-0 at intermission.

Daemen continued to control the ball out of halftime and had a stroke of fortune in the 51st minute. Samantha Engel struck a ball off the post that ricocheted right to Meghan Lipinoga in the middle of the box who put it home for the four-goal advantage. Engel tallied an assist on a Caitlyn Grover marker in the 85th minute for the 5-0 final.

Rotach stopped seven shots for the Roos, while Kathryn Haessner earned the win for the Wildcats making two saves. Rachel Reichart replaced her in the second half stopping one shot.
