Canton, NY – Brittany Rotach (Brasher Falls, NY) stopped 13 shots on the day but it was not enough as visiting Hamilton College took a 4-0 decision Sunday afternoon. With the win the Continentals improve to 5-5-3, while the Kangaroos drop to 7-9-2.

The visitors controlled possession in the first half dictating the pace of play. Hamilton got on the board in the 29th minute when Hallie Becker controlled a loose ball from 16 yards out and beat Roo keeper Rotach into the upper left corner.

Hamilton held edges in shots (16-4), shots on goal (11-3) and corner kicks (3-0) in the opening half as they took a 1-0 lead into intermission. Rotach came up huge making 10 first half saves to keep the Roos within just one.

The Continentals continued to keep the foot on the gas pedal in the second half. Morgan Fletcher tallied back-to-back scores in a six minute span to make the score 3-0. Her first score was off a feed from Emma Teach, while her second marker was unassisted. The Continentals would add a late penalty kick tally in the 88th minute for the 4-0 final.

Rotach made 13 saves for the Roos in the game, while Liza Gergenti stopped all four shots she faced. Cassie Dennison replaced her in goal for the final 6:40. Tressa Goolden (Canton, NY) led SUNY Canton placing both of her two shot attempts on goal.

The women's soccer team closes out its season Tuesday when it travels to Troy, NY to take on The Sage Colleges beginning at 2:30 p.m.
