Canton, NY – Franchesca Trombley (Dekalb Junction, NY) and Kristina DiNardo (Ottawa, ON) each scored twice as the women's soccer team erupted for six goals in a 6-2 victory against visiting Cazenovia College on Saturday.

The hosts got on the board first just 8:35 in when Trombley took the ball down the right sideline and moved in on goal beating the goalie right for her sixth goal of the season.

Three minutes later Trombley scored again this time off a beautiful feed from Karyss Terrance (Hogansburg, NY). Terrance made a nifty move to beat her defender down the left sideline and found Trombley cutting through the box who hit a one-timer into the back of the net.

The Roos made it 3-0 at the 27:48 when Terrance set up her second goal of the day. She played a cross from the left end line to DiNardo at the right post who kicked home her second marker of the season.

SUNY Canton dominated play in the first half holding edges in shots (15-6) and shots on goal (7-2). The Roos led 3-0 at intermission.

Five minutes out of halftime SUNY Canton extended its lead to 4-0 as Katie Lamica (Malone, NY) ripped a shot into the upper 90 from 20 yards out for her first collegiate goal.

Twenty-nine seconds later Cazenovia responded with its first goal of the game off a set piece. Rachael McDonough took a free kick from 30 yards out and found Abigail Kortz in a scramble in front of net who beat Roo keeper Liz Lynch (North Lawrence, NY).

SUNY Canton added an insurance marker in the 73rd minute when Terrance blasted a shot from 218 yards out that went off diving Cazenovia keeper Kara Locey and into the right corner of the net. The Wildcats made it 5-2 early in the 89th minute when Gia Cuomo-Browne found Kaitlyn Lyon on a cross from right to center for a score.

The Roos continued their offensive explosion as Trombley made a quick centering pass to DiNardo about 12 yards out who lifted a shot just under the cross bar into the right corner of net for her second of the game.

SUNY Canton dominated shots (29-16) and corner kicks (7-1). Lynch turned aside seven shots in goal for the Roos, while Locey made eight saves for the Wildcats.

The Roos travel up Route 11 to take on Clarkson University at 6 p.m. on Tuesday.
