(Canton, N.Y.)- On Wednesday, Oct. 19 the SUNY Canton women’s soccer team will “Kick for a Cure” to join the ongoing battle against breast cancer when they face Clarkson University on their home turf.

The Roos are teaming up with the Susan G. Komen Passionately Pink for the Cure program and holding an all-pink day when they take on the Golden Knights at 7 p.m. The Susan G. Komen Passionately Pink for the Cure program supports life-saving research, education, screenings and treatment programs in the fight to end breast cancer forever.

The Roos and Golden Knights will both be decked out in pink gear for the “Kick the Cure” game and there will be prizes and giveaways to every fan dressed in pink. The Roos will also be collecting donations in person around campus and at the game that night and all donations will go directly to the Susan G. Komen foundation of Central New York.

“This is one of the most personal fundraisers we could possibly do,” said head coach Kate Thomas-Moody. “I have 24 young women on my team right now and the statistics about breast cancer make awareness vital to me and my team and our amazing campus community.”

The Roos will also be organizing a SUNY Canton Pink Glove Dance on Oct. 24 in conjunction with the Campus Health Center. Those interested in participating in the video can contact Thomas-Moody at 386-7976.
