Bronx, NY – The SUNY Canton women's soccer team struggled to get the offense going dropping a 4-0 decision to host Lehman College on Saturday afternoon.
The Lightning (13-2-0) jumped out to a quick start as Chelsey Harris scored from the top of the box in the 5th minute. Harris added her second of the game and 11th of the season in the 14th minute off a through ball from Michelle Reyes Ruiz.
Lehman added a goal just 2:19 before intermission to take a 3-0 lead into halftime.
The Lightning added an insurance goal in the 66th minute for the 4-0 final. Lehman held a 14-5 shots on goal advantage. Hannah Christiansen (Lake View, NY) paced the Roos with two shots on target.
Kelsi Gilbert (Colton, NY) made 10 saves for the Roos, while Stephanie Gonzalez turned aside five shots in the shutout for the Lightning.
The Roos wrap up the regular season at .500 with an 8-8-2 record. The team finishes the season 6-5-2 in NCAA contests, which makes them eligible for ECAC postseason play should they be selected.
