Cazenovia , NY – Junior Robyn Carroll (Bowmanville, ON) and senior Tressa Goolden (Canton, NY) combined for 13 goals as the SUNY Canton women's lacrosse team led from start to finish in a 17-8 road victory against Cazenovia College on Saturday.

Goolden started right where she left off last season netting her first of the season just 3:30 into the contest. High school teammate Sarah Stone (Canton, NY) scored off a feed from Megan Poupore (Massena, NY) less than a minute later and Carroll quickly got on the scoreboard as the Roos led 3-0 less than six minutes in.

Carroll and Goolden would score two more each as the Roos (1-0) opened up a 7-1 advantage and led 7-4 at intermission.

Stone and Carroll scored a pair out of half with Keri Dempsey (Wappingers Falls, NY) setting up the Carroll tally. Cazenovia (0-2) would get one back on an unassisted tally from Kaitlin Sheppard, but the Roos responded with three straight. Lora Ardoin (Houston, TX) found Goolden, Carroll caged an unassisted marker and Carroll set up Ardoin's first of the season.

Goolden added her fifth of the game with 14:17 remaining and sophomore Katelynn Nutter (Carthage, NY) followed suit scoring her first collegiate goal 27 seconds later. Carroll scored twice more and Goolden netted her sixth of the game as the Roos cruised to the 17-8 victory.

Dempsey finished with team-highs of four ground balls and two caused turnovers. Carroll and Amanda Woods (Williamsville, NY) led the way with a game-high three draw controls each. Becca Kieffer (Lee Center, NY) stopped nine shots in her first win of the season, while Abigail Kortz made 10 saves for Cazenovia.
