The SUNY Canton Women's Ice Hockey team (0-7) dropped their game tonight at Roos House by a score of 9-0 to the Ontario Hockey Academy (Cornwall, Ontario).
The Lady Roos had an excellent first period, allowing only one goal with Tori Taylor (Hokah, Minn.) minding the net. She faced19 shots on goal and returned between the posts for 14 minutes of the second period, facing another 10 shots while allowing only three goals. Taylor played a total of 34 minutes of the contest, facing 29 shots on goal, making 25 saves while allowing four goals scored.
Taylor was replaced in the middle of the second period by goalie Alyssa Altschuler (Cheshire, Conn.) who was busy minding the net as well. Altschuler faced 24 shots on goal, making 19 saves while allowing five goals to be scored in her 26-minute tenure between the posts.
Making her first appearance in a Lady Roos ice hockey uniform tonight was Robyn Carroll (Bowmanville, Ontario) who is fresh off of a semi-final National Championship finish this past weekend with the Roos Women's Volleyball team. The Roos had 12 shots on goal against OHA on the night.
Scoring on the night for the Ontario Hockey Academy were eight different players. Leading the way with two goals was Maude Belavance, and goals were scored by Zoe Mahon, Mackenzie Carey, Melina Avinon, Rhea Coad, Ellen Oldfield, Jessica Hickey and Bailey Robertson. Minding the net for OHA was Kelly Possada while Sophie Royer say 11 minutes of action in the game.
