Worcester, MA – Brooke Susac made 13 saves but the SUNY Canton women's hockey team was held scoreless on Friday at Becker College.
Neither team found the back of the net in the first or second period, despite the Roos rattling off 26 shots to Becker's nine.
The Hawks got on the board at 12:20 of the third period when Elysabeth Jefferies connected a pass to Catherine McShera notching the 1-0 lead that would end up being the only goal of the contest.
Hawks goalie, Julia Johnson turned away 45 Canton shots, including 19 in the third period. The Roos penalty kill was 4-for-4, while they went 0-for-3 on the power play.
These two teams will have a rematch tomorrow at 7:20 p.m. in Worcester, MA.
