(Geneva, N.Y.)- The SUNY Canton women’s cross country team finished in 10th place out of 16 teams at the Cross Country Only Colleges championships at Seneca Lake State Park in Geneva.
The invitational, hosted by Hobart and William Smith, is for those colleges that only offer cross country and not track and field. William Smith won the women’s race followed by Clarkson University, SUNY ESF, Cazenovia College, Hartwick College, D’Youville College, Paul Smith’s College, Morrisville State College, Penn State Altoona, SUNY Canton, SUNY Potsdam, Keuka College, Medaille College, Hilbert College, SUNYIT, and Penn State Abington.
This was the final regular season meet for the Roos who will now turn their attention to the USCAA national meet on Nov. 10 in Lake Placid.
Freshman Megan Mydosh (Warwick, N.Y.) turned in her fourth top 10 performance of the season as she crossed the line in 10th place out of 126 total runners. Mydosh posted a time of 21:49 in the 5K race.
Freshman Heather Ameele (Williamson, N.Y.) followed Mydosh in 41st place in a time of 23:38. Sophomore Sarah Glode (Champlain, N.Y.) finished in 96th place in a time of 28:08. Freshman Emily Clark (Brushton, N.Y.) was 111th (30:34), freshman Rachel Fox (Fort Plain, N.Y.) was 114th (32:22).
