(Alfred, N.Y.)- The SUNY Canton women’s basketball team lost at Alfred University 63-53 Tuesday night at the McLane Center in Alfred.
SUNY Canton (8-7) was led by senior forward Kaitlin Myers (Dannemora, N.Y.), who scored 12 points and grabbed seven rebounds. The Roos outscored the Saxons 37-35 in the second half, but couldn’t overcome a 12-point halftime deficit.
Junior Joelle Percy (Black River, N.Y.) drilled three 3-pointers and finished with 11 points and four rebounds. Junior Alicia Uhlein (Watertown, N.Y.) added 11 points and four rebounds. Freshman forward Brianna Sayer (Hermon, N.Y.) came up two points shy of a double-double with eight points and a season-high 10 rebounds. Freshman forward Karyss Terrance (Hogansburg, N.Y.) contributed seven points and a game-high 12 rebounds.
Harley Cleary led Alfred with 18 points and eight rebounds, and Sarah Federico and Hailey Sick added 10 points apiece.
The Roos return to their home court on Friday, Jan. 18 when they host Morrisville State College at 6 p.m.
