(Canton, N.Y.)- The SUNY Canton women's basketball team will start their 2010-11 season this afternoon at Roberts Wesleyan College in Rochester.
The Roos and the Raiders tip-off at 3:30.
SUNY Canton and seventh-year head coach Bruce Tallon have nine returning players including senior forward Shannon LaFave (Ogdensburg, N.Y.), the Sunrise Conference Player of the Year and an NAIA Honorable Mention All-American in 2009-10.
Also back are junior guards Brittany Kenyon (Hammond, N.Y.), Mindy Small (Ogdensburg, N.Y.) and Emily Bush (Ogdensburg, N.Y.) and a quartet of sophomores in guard Abbey Shoen (Waddington, N.Y.) and forwards Heather Lottie (Canton, N.Y.), Jackie Sedlacek (Endicott, N.Y.) and Brittany Crump (North Lawrence, N.Y.). Forward Jackie Maynard (Brasher Falls, N.Y.) also returns for her senior year after sitting out last season.
