Presque Isle, ME – The SUNY Canton women's basketball team received a pair of double-double from Antanasia Chambers and Autumn Watkins as the Roos scored a season-high in points in a 75-63 road win at Maine Presque Isle in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) play on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Chambers nearly recorded a triple-double with 18 points, 10 rebounds, seven assists and three steals on 8-for-11 shooting. Watkins posted her first collegiate double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds, while Breanna Cullers added 16 points on 8-for-13 shooting. Jenifer Morgan-Aubin chipped in eight points and six rebounds.

The Owls led 18-14 after the opening quarter but Canton outscored UMPI by 10 in the second quarter to take a 34-28 lead into intermission. Leading by three heading to the fourth quarter the Roos posted 25 points in the final stanza to outscore their opponents by nine.

Canton held a 48-39 advantage in rebounding and had the upper hand in bench points (12-0) and points in the paint (30-18).

Hunter Mercier led all players with 21 points, while Rhylee Wright finished with a double-double on 18 points and 15 boards. Sarah Musselman (13) also scored in double figures for the Owls.
