Canton, NY – Jenifer Morgan-Aubin posted her fourth double-double of the season and Taylor Saltus buried six three-pointers but the SUNY Canton women's basketball team dropped a 92-63 decision to visiting Villa Maria College on Saturday.

The Roos (5-19) hung tough with the Vikings as the visitors took a 24-19 lead after one quarter. Villa Maria (17-8) outscored Canton 30-13 in the second period to take a commanding 54-32 lead into intermission.

Saltus paced the Roos with 14 first half points, while Jenifer Morgan-Aubin added 10 points and nine rebounds. Shaquana Owens led the Viking attack with 21 points, while Armoni Jordan and Jayvonna Kincannon added 12 apiece.

SUNY Canton outscored Villa Maria 17-10 in the third quarter to get within 64-49. However, the Vikings bounced back doubling up the Roos in the final quarter for the 92-63 victory.

Saltus led the Roos with 26 points, eight assists while hitting nine of her 14 shot attempts including a 6-for-11 mark behind the arc. Morgan-Aubin posted her fifth double-double of the season with 20 poitns and 16 rebounds going a perfect 8-for-8 from the charity stripe. Paige Whitton added 10 points hitting a pair of threes.

Owens came up one assist short of a triple-double with a game-high 30 points to go with 12 rebounds and nine assists. Kincannon chipped in 18 points, while Jordan (17) and Dominique Davis (14) also finished in double figures.

The women's basketball has a quick turnaround as it hosts SUNY Delhi on Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Roos House.
