(Cobleskill, N.Y.)- Despite a strong second-half the SUNY Canton women’s basketball lost at SUNY Cobleskill 60-53 Thursday night.
The Roos fell behind by 12 points at halftime trailing 30-18 but outscored the Tigers 35-30 in the second half shooting 41 percent from the floor.
Three SUNY Canton players reached double figures in scoring led by juniors Kaitlin Myers (Dannemora, N.Y.) and Jackie Sedlacek (Endicott, N.Y.) who each tossed in 15 points apiece. Myers shot 6-for-9 from the field and knocked down three 3-pointers and she also had eight rebounds, two assists and two steals. Sedlacek was 6-for-10 from the floor and added four rebounds, three assists and three steals.
Freshman Tricia Boland (Hammond, N.Y.) totaled 10 points and four assists for the Roos and junior Brittany Crump (North Lawrence, N.Y.) added eight points.
The Tigers were led by Chelcy Moore who had a tremendous night with 25 points and 16 rebounds. Kady Porterfield also had a double-double with 11 points and 12 boards.
The Roos wrap up their season this Sunday, Feb. 19 hosting Vermont Technical College at 1 p.m.
