(Middletown, Conn.)- The SUNY Canton men’s ice hockey team dropped a tight 3-2 decision to Connecticut College Tuesday night in Middletown, Conn.

Sophomore forward Trevor Wight (Clearwater, Fla.) played a role in both scores on Tuesday for SUNY Canton with a goal and an assist, and sophomore goalie Morgan Barr (Almonte, N.Y.) had another solid outing with 43 saves, including 21 in the second period.

SUNY Canton surged ahead 1-0 midway through the opening stanza when sophomore forward Bill Ousey (Fairless Hills, Pa.) knocked in his third goal of the year from Wight and sophomore Dave Schneider (Indianapolis, Ind.). That lead lasted until late in the period before Mike Sinsigalli scored the first of two Connecticut power play goals with just two seconds remaining on the clock.

The Roos (5-13) regained the lead early in the second period when Wight scored from sophomore defenseman J.R. Lafferty (Williamstown, N.J.) just 1:49 into the period making it 2-1 in favor of the visitors. The Camels rallied back once again when Tom DiPretoro evened the game at 1-1 with a goal at the 7:55 mark and then DiPretoro netted the game-winning goal 26 seconds into the final period.

Tom Conlin made 24 saves for the Camels.

SUNY Canton returns to their home ice this weekend hosting Lebanon Valley College on Friday, Jan. 25 at 7 p.m. and again on Saturday, Jan. 26 at 3 p.m.
