Roo's volleyball rolls over Bobcats on the road, 3-0

Brighton, NY – The SUNY Canton women's volleyball team made quick work of host Paul Smith's College downing them in straight sets, 3-0 (25-12, 25-16, 25-15) Wednesday evening on the road. The win improves the Kangaroos to 19-3, while the loss drops the Bobcats to 7-12.

The Roos got out to a quick start in the opening set with 14 team kills, the most of any frame on the evening, as they more than doubled up Paul Smith's 25-12 in the first. SUNY Canton continued its strong play with an 11 kill second stanza committing just two errors. The team closed out the Bobcats 25-15 in the third for the straight set victory.

Kelsy Cornish (Honeoye, NY) floored a match-high 11 kills on just 17 attack attempts for a remarkable .647 hitting percentage. Morgan Bills (Walworth, NY) added six kills in just two sets of action. Kiana Archer (Plattsburgh, NY) had an impressive match at setter as assisted her teammates for 16 kills on the evening to go with seven digs and three aces. Brianna Enge (Auburn, NY) finished with a team-high eight digs and Mackenzie Mynter (Churchville, NY) set up 13 points playing two of the three frames. Lindsay Bryer (Wilson, NY) recorded a team-high four service aces, while Julia Bradley (Tupper Lake, NY) dug up seven balls.

The women's volleyball team will now prepare to host their second tri-match of the season on Saturday and Sunday at the Roos House. The team squares off with University of Maine at Fort Kent Saturday at 11:00 a.m. followed by a 3:00 p.m. match with Morrisville State. The Roos will take on Maine-Fort Kent again Sunday at 11:00 a.m.
