Game 1 – Box

SUNY Canton used an all-around team performance to cruise to victory in its opening match of the day v. Hunter surrendering just 19 points in the opening two sets. The Roos posted 37 team kills in the match.

Morgan Bills (Walworth, NY) led the way with a match-high 17 kills, while Lindsay Bryer (Wilson, NY) and Kelsy Cornish (Honeoye, NY) added seven and five putdowns, respectively. Peyton Robinson (Bloomfield, NY) dished out 34 assists, while Robyn Carroll (Bowmanville, ON) added a team-best 14 digs.

Game 2 – Box

SUNY Canton controlled a 25-18 opening set win v. the Knights. The second set was extremely tight down the stretch. With the stanza tied at 23-23 Head Coach Carol LaMarche called timeout. The Roos closed out the second frame with two consecutive points off a kill from Cornish and a double block from Bills and Robinson to take the 2-0 lead.

Tied 2-2 in the third set the Roos ran off 13 of the next 15 points to take a commanding 15-4 advantage. However, the Knights stormed back on a 15-6 run to trim the SUNY Canton lead to 21-19. The Roos got a huge play thanks to multiple diving efforts including a great bump over from Carroll that resulted in a Bills kill for the 22-19 lead.
