(Tucson, Arizona)- The SUNY Canton women’s softball team dropped both games of a doubleheader to St. John Fisher College in Tucson, Arizona as they lost to the Cardinals 9-0 and 9-3.
In game one the Roos (0-4) pounded out nine hits led by sophomore pitcher Tina DeLuca (Fresh Meadows, N.Y.) who went 3-for-3 with three singles. DeLuca also had two strikeouts on the mound.
Senior centerfielder Jen Shaw (Adelanto, Calif.) went 2-for-3 with a pair of singles and sophomore Heather Lottie (Canton, N.Y.) and freshman Emiley Walters (Lancaster, N.Y.) each had a single.
In the second game, freshman Lyndsay Coppola (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) went 2-for-3 to lead the Roos. Vickie Lynch (Howard Beach, N.Y.) had a double and DeLuca added two RBIs.
Danielle Leon had five strikeouts in game one for the Cardinals and Krista Robarge had three in game two. Jamie Harmon collected four RBIs on the day for St. John Fisher.
