(Lynn, Mass.)- The SUNY Canton softball team ran their winning streak to three straight victories as they swept Fisher College 14-8 and 15-0 in a doubleheader on Friday at Breed Field in Lynn, Mass.

The Roos, ranked fourth in the latest USCAA Coaches Poll, improved to 7-11 overall and have now won six of their last seven games.

The Roos put forth another dominating offensive performance on Friday as they collected 26 total hits, 13 in each game, including seven extra base hits.

In game one, the Roos fell behind 3-1 after the first inning, but then outscored the Falcons 9-0 over the next three frames to take control of the game. SUNY Canton tacked on four more runs in the top of the seventh, and Fisher closed out the scoring with three in the bottom of the final inning.

Junior Andrea Rogers (Munnsville, N.Y.) went 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles and two runs to lead the Roos. Sophomore Jessica Rhodes (Alpine, N.Y.) finished 2-for-4 with a double, three runs and an RBI. Senior Tina DeLuca (Fresh Meadows, N.Y.) and sophomore Hallie Fenti (Hornell, N.Y.) each drove in four runs, and junior Nicole Mulieri (Afton, N.Y.) chipped in with three singles and two runs.

Freshman Ashley Merritt (Watertown, N.Y.) recorded her first collegiate win on the mound as she struck out three batters and scattered five hits over seven innings.

In the nightcap, the Roos opened a 7-0 lead after three innings, stretched their advantage to 9-0 with two more runs in the fourth and closed out the game with six runs in the top of the fifth in a five-inning shortened game.

DeLuca notched the fifth win of her senior campaign fanning five batters and allowing just two walks in the five-inning shutout. She also helped her cause going 3-for-4 with a double, a triple, four runs, and three RBIs at the plate.

Mulieri finished a perfect 5-for-5 and scored four times. Rhodes and junior Destiny Petty (Flushing, N.Y.) each doubled and drove in three runs for SUNY Canton.
