(Cortland, N.Y.)- The SUNY Canton men's ice hockey team earned their third straight win on Sunday as they won a shootout with Cortland State 10-6 in Cortland.
The Roos, ranked 20th in the latest ACHA Division I rankings, improved to 8-1 and are off this week until they head to New England next weekend for games at Assumption College on Friday, Southern New Hampshire University on Saturday and Daniel Webster College on Sunday.
A majority of the scoring came in the first two periods as both teams combined for 13 goals over the first 40 minutes.
Adam Fedor (Orleans, Ontario) scored three goals for the Roos to record the hat trick and he also had one assist for a four-point afternoon.
Darren Camp (Canton, N.Y.) and Rob Liggio (Canton, N.Y.) each scored twice with one assist. Corey Frizell (Orleans, Ontario) and Eric Richard (St-Hubert, Quebec) had a goal and an assist and Chris Lee (Gansevoort, N.Y.) recorded 24 saves.
Cortland State was led by Kyle Smith who scored four goals and Jason Sartorius had 19 saves.
