(Oswego, N.Y.)- The SUNY Canton women’s volleyball team made it eight straight wins after knocking off Utica College in three games Saturday morning at Oswego State University.

The Roos beat the Pioneers 25-11, 25-9 and 25-14 to not only win their eighth consecutive match but notch their eighth straight sweep. SUNY Canton, the sixth-ranked team in the USCAA, improved their record to an impressive 15-2. In the last 24 sets the Roos have allowed opponents to score 19 points or more in just three of those sets.

On Saturday, sophomore Jessica Reynolds (Oakville, Ontario) delivered seven kills and four service aces to guide the squad. Sophomore Mackenzie Mynter (Churchville, N.Y.) collected 12 assists. Freshman Morgan Bills (Walworth, N.Y.) added six kills. Freshman Robyn Carroll (Bowmanville, Ontario) contributed six aces. Freshman Kiana Archer (Plattsburgh, N.Y.) had five aces and senior Danielle Swanston (Burke, N.Y.) added five digs.

The Roos return to their home court on Tuesday, Oct. 9 and will put their nine-game home unbeaten streak on the line against SUNY Plattsburgh. That match starts at 6 p.m. and it will be Pink Night in Roos House. SUNY Canton is joining in the fight against breast cancer and pink Roos t-shirts will be sold that night with all the proceeds going to the Susan G. Kormen Foundation to assist in breast cancer research. Anyone that purchases a t-shirt will receive a free bag of popcorn.
